Centennial Parade Reflections!

image

Thanks to all who participated in our Centennial Parade on November 3rd.  It was a great show of Roosevelt Pride. Thanks for coming out and showing your support.  A special appreciation to all of the Principals, School Staff and District Staff that marched with the students and the rest of the community.  It was a wonderful event.

It was a great collaboration of School Staff and District Personnel that made it all come together.  It’s been a great Centennial Year so far and we are proud to have been a part of it.

Roosevelt District was the recipient of two of the three top awards for best parade entries; 'J.F. Kennedy School' and the 'RSD Centennial Express' (Transportation) earned special recognition and huge trophies by the festival panel.  Both groups will be recognized at an upcoming Board meeting.

The Roosevelt community was represented exceptionally well by every school site and the District Office.  There were beautiful floats, marching bands, cheer squads, and dancers.  Hundreds of students, staff, and parents marched and smiled as a united team during the parade. The celebration continued with amazing RSD individual and group performances at El Reposo Park.

The RSD Parade Planning Team consisted of: Joseph Ortiz, Gracie Barraza, Aida Frietz, and Tamie Hayworth.
